Nigel Colfer 180JZ Preview
Spent today shooting Nigel Colfer’s recently victorious 1JZ powered RPS13. I’m pretty happy with how it all went although we did spend over two hours searching for a location the results may just be worth it. Here’s a quick edit from the last shot of the day back at Nigel’s place. Now to finally start into the backlog of work that need’s to be cleared !
Team Nexen
Just finished quickly working over this shot of the two Team Nexen Ireland cars of Christy Carpenter and James Deane. It’s a simple enough composite, containing around five images. We only had time for one angle as the guy’s had to head to practice so I don’t think it came out too bad. I know it’s not the greatest image in the world but it’s good practice !
Behind the Scenes
Just a quick snap from a shoot this weekend gone on Christy Carpenters Nexen 1JZ S15. Keep an eye out for the full feature coming soon …
Twenty Four Hours of Nürburgring
During the middle of May, I made my first pilgrimage to the 24 hours of Nürburging. The event which takes place on both the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix circuit (colloquially known as the ‘Behemoth’) puts drivers not just against each other but the course itself. The track stretches some 25+KMs through the Eifel region of southern Germany. The course is infamous around the globe, as being a track that takes no prisoners and allows no room for error. The event was attended by some 240,000 people in 2010, some of which arrived at the circuit a week early to get a prime spot and to build makeshift homes, viewing towers, party areas and even hot tubs. This post is the story of my event, from Thursday until Sunday. I hope you enjoy …
Carlow Stages / MK2 Escort Challenge
Ventured back onto the rally stage for the first time in over two years yesterday for the MK2 Escort Challenge which I was covering for Speedhunters.com. It was a great change of pace shooting on closed roads; I forgot how exciting it can be chasing stages, exploring the countryside to find a good spot, having the craic with marshalls and other photographers. It’s crazy how different each sort of motorsport can be. Click the continue reading link for the rest of the images …
Upcoming Feature in Redline …
I had the pleasure of shooting this sublime supercharged E46 BMW last week, keep an eye out it in a future issue of Redline Magazine.
Time Attack Round One, Oulton Park
I spent last weekend at Oulton Park, where I was present to cover the first round of the UK Time Attack Series. It was my first time shooting at Oulton and I found it a great venue to photograph at. The track was interesting with hills and crests, backdrop was varied, friendly staff and marshall’s all combined for a great experience. I shot the coverage for Speedhunters.com, where you can now find the entire story behind the weekend’s events. As usual, a full gallery of images can be found after the jump …

Mazda FD3-S RX7
Spent most of yesterday shooting this beautifully understated RX7. The owner is a close friend of mine, so getting the most out of this shoot was top priority. This was my first shoot since October, so has been a while since I last got behind the lens. The colour was a challenge to shoot, not just to get a good exposure but to try and faithfully represent the shade of silver. It’s an early model FD with the late spec front end, RE Ameyia sideskirts with carbon fibre trays. The engine was built and prepared by legendary rotary tuner Dragon Performance and is estimated at above 400 BHP. You can see this in print in an upcoming issue of Modified Motors magazine … The rest of the shoot is after the jump …
James Deane’s SR20 RX7
Shot these last year during a brief ten minute shoot and having previously only paid attention to posting one shot I’ve tried to put together a short series of shots with a more inline style of post work. Let me know your comments, good or bad ! More after the break
