Behind the Visor II
The most important part of any motorsport, is the man or woman behind the steering wheel. It’s often easy to forget about the person who commands their motor vehicle at speed towards and around us. Getting to know the characters behind the visor is one of the more interesting sides of motorsport. Pictured top to bottom – Edward Sandström, David Brabham, Darren McNamara, Fredric Aasbo, Daijiro Yoshihara & Nigel Colfer.
A Day With David Brabham
Earlier last month I was tasked with creating the accompanying images for a story of a day in the life of one David Brabham. The Brabham family name is synonymous in motorsport with success and David’s illustrious career has ensured that association won’t be changing any time soon. A racing career spanning nearly thirty years with multiple wins in a variety of classes at Le Mans and a host of other successes across a variety of championships including F1, JGTC and ALMS to name but a few. David would be one of those who you would forgive for having any airs or graces about him but the man behind the visor is as welcoming and as nice as anyone you could ever meet. A true gentleman of motorsport. More images after the jump …
Mark & Margaret O’Leary
Meant to post these a while ago but have been quite busy. Plus the new site layout lends itself a lot better to larger images. Just like to wish Mark, Margaret & their son Séan all the best in the future. More images after the jump …
Behind the Visor
Back in April, I was lucky enough to have time to shoot some portraits of some of the drivers and staff of the Prodrift Super Series. When the majority of your work is based around the machine and not the man, it can be refreshing change of pace to shoot the men (and indeed women) behind the visors. The idea behind these portraits was to portray the people behind the cars, to show the real person and not just the name you may recognize from the commentary. More after the jump …

A Day with Saving J …
2009 has been a year of change for me. I’ve been trying to get away a little bit from the motoring side of things, so as to try and develop my portraiture skills. Here are some images from a recent shoot with Kilkenny based band Saving J. The images are to be used as promotional material for their new album This City Street, due to be released this Autumn.
